[c.2004] Argus Filch originally invented the Pesk Procurer to catch Cornish Pixies. The device is used somewhat differently in the Muggle world. Acting like a gentle lasso, it is primarily used to capture escaped mice, gerbils, hamsters, and the occasional guinea pig.
